Gulf Nations Expect Travel Disruption as Egypt Announces Increase in Visa-On-Arrival Fees

A significant travel adjustment is expected as Egypt readies itself to make visa requirements more stringent in 2026. A circular within the Egyptian Travel Agents Association indicates that the Egypt visa-on-arrival fee is set to increase from US$25 to US$30. This is expected to affect tourists from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Jordan, who have always enjoyed easy visa access at airports.

Egypt is known for its pyramids, historical sites, and Red Sea vacationing. Millions of tourists visit Egypt each year. But with the new visa regulations and increased fees on arrival, spontaneous vacations may become difficult.

Egypt is still one of the top vacation spots in the Middle East. With proper planning, tourists can avoid last-minute airport hassles in 2026.
